Johan Krüger

OUTFITTER / OWNER / FOUNDER / BIG 5 PH

Johan Krüger is an avid hunter and conservationist for 30 years. He has been a senior ranking officer in the South African Police Services for 18 years and enjoyed business success in the security industry before starting Chattaronga. Johan has a passion for African wildlife preservation. Along with his son Philip, Johan has operated Chattaronga for 13 years. His knowledge of, and passion for, the African wilderness provide every client with a truly great safari experience.

Philip Krüger

OUTFITTER / OWNER / BIG 5 PH

Philip is a passionate hunter who has enjoyed the sport for most of his life. He has an uncanny knowledge of wildlife. At age 16, Philip became the youngest Professional Hunter in the history of South Africa and he received his Big 5 hunting license when he was only 20 years old. During his 13-year career as a guide, Philip led a majority of the buffalo bow hunts in South Africa. He has successfully guided more than 350 Big 6 hunts for enthusiasts of all ages. His youngest client was age 14 and his oldest was 81. Philip is a consummate professional. He is known for his calm and focused nature and he loves to share his passion with others.

Fidelis

OWNER – VEXFORD SAFARIS, ZIMBABWE / BIG 5 PH

Fidelis is the owner of Vexford Safaris, Chattaronga’s partner business in Zimbabwe. He was born in Mashonaland West Province, Zimbabwe and from a young age, he has been interested in wildlife and conservation. From 1979 to 2000, Fidelis worked for national parks and wildlife organizations, during which time he was responsible for the control of problem animals. In 1997, he became a professional hunter and has since guided hundreds of Big 5 hunts. He is highly knowledgeable in all aspects of hunting and understands the unique habits and nuances of each species.
